Budweiser and its parent company Anheuser-Busch Inbev announced it will award 30 annual scholarships over the next 5 years aimed at strengthening Black representation in the brewing industry. To award the scholarships, the company has partnered with The United Negro College Fund. “We realized we had a role to not only accelerate our diversity and inclusion agenda internally … but also externally by way of education,” said Monica Rustgi, vice president of marketing for Budweiser USA. Every year, Budweiser will award 25 scholarships worth $4,000 each to college students of color in science, technology, engineering and math to help initiate careers in the brewing industry. Anheuser-Busch will maintain contact and track the successes of award recipients throughout the program. Get the full story here at Reuters.
